Enham Trust is a leading disability charity situated in the rural village of Enham Alamein, providing both residential and domiciliary care onsite and within the immediate area. The Charity is at the heart of the local community.

The role

We provide specialised Supported Living and community support for adults with a range of disabilities and long-term health conditions.

Every day is different, and you will support a number of individuals to complete daily domestic tasks such as paying bills and cooking as well as supporting them to do the fun stuff. Typical duties include, but are not exclusive to:

  • Providing practical support whilst on shift
  • Build and develop relationships and encourage individuals to participate fully in the opportunities offered within the homes and external environments.
  • Follow and be aware of the individual needs of the individual, their support plans and individual risk assessments.
  • Record accurate diary notes throughout your shift an actual factual account of the shift and the activities.
  • Ensure the health, safety and well-being of each individual and that safeguarding procedures are followed at all times and understand how to raise concerns.
  • Build strong working relationships with external agencies such as Local Authorities and other Health/ Social Professionals.
  • To undertake a wide range of administrative tasks whilst on duty, including filing and typing within the Unit as delegated by Management and during handover.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as and when required
  • Ensure standards of the home are maintained through adhering to house rules, policies and procedures.

You

Compassionate by nature, you will possess sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving abilities. Reading, writing and communicating clearly in English is vital, and you must be flexible in working shift patterns on a rota basis including every other weekend.

Experience is not as essential as your genuine desire to develop in a career in care.
