Skills 2 Achieve Tutor Permanent | Skills 2 Achieve Tutor | Southampton | Eastleigh | Portsmouth | Up to £28,000 per year | Full time We are looking for a Tutor to join the team, reporting directly to the Skills 2 Achieve (S2A) Quality and Curriculum manager, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of students to support them in achieving their goals. You will ensure a high standard of experience is provided to optimise student progression and outcomes. You will deliver Functional Skills maths and English qualifications from Entry level 3 to level 2 standard and employability skills training. The role will consist of teaching and mentoring young people in-centre and offsite on Community project, working in a small team in a charity education setting. Teaching small groups of young people – average 8 per group. Teaching hours will be around 18-24 per week. The main work location will be at one of our centres: Eastleigh or Southampton; travel to Portsmouth centre may also be required. Operational: Deliver high quality, engaging and relevant maths, English and Employability Skills teaching to ensure students remain on programme and achieve qualification outcomes Teach and support students in the centre, virtually or whilst out on project days, trips and activities. Develop schemes of work, session plans and deliver Functional Skills teaching (entry level 3 to level 2) and employability skills Manage initial and diagnostic assessments, undertake regular student progress reviews Manage a caseload of students to effectively meet OFSTED Education Inspection Framework standards in teaching, learning and assessment Support a caseload of students through effective advice and guidance, and training to progress into sustainable employment, work placement, Apprenticeship, further education or positive destination Be prepared to travel and teach students in other S2A centres as required Build and maintain good working relationships with employers, Job Centre Plus, Youth Offending Teams and other relevant agencies involved with the students to ensure support to young people in the provision Maintain relationships with referral agencies to ensure appropriate referrals are made to the centre Record student information accurately and securely on management information systems. Attending promotional and employer engagement events to promote the provision Positively promote, and raise the profile of the work of Enham Trust Ensure effective safeguarding of students and staff What we are looking for from you! Skilled Functional Skills maths and English teacher with the ability to communicate their passion through inspiring and engaging practise Ability to use interpersonal skills to manage relationships with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and with varying communication needs and requirements IT literate and competent in the use of all Microsoft Office programs and the Internet Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults, children and colleagues Commitment to and understanding of equal opportunities and disability awareness Strong organisational skills and ability to work to targets and deadlines Ability to problem solve, resourcefulness and ability to research information to answer wide range of queries Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships; liaising with outside agencies to ensure high standard of continued support for students Ability to cope with a challenging and varied workload Awareness of the need for high quality documentation and reporting systems Ability to travel across the region will be required Qualifications: Qualification in English and maths at Level 2 or above A recognised teaching qualification or currently undertaking training towards this, or qualified by experience Willing to complete Health and Safety at Work training Willing to complete First Aid at Work training Some of the perks!
