Permanent | Part Time 18 Hours per week | Enham Alamein | £10.42 per hour 

The Role

To work as part of the Activities Team, planning and preparing sessions in advance and delivering these to our learners. This role will require a knowledge or experience of wellbeing topics and/or an artistic background, a great imagination, and some creative skills such as handicrafts would be an asset. Your sessions would need to underpin our ethos of supporting our residents to live, work and enjoy life.

To work in partnership with the Activities Manager to identify programmes to promote health and wellbeing for adults with long term health conditions using an outcomes-based approach. To ensure changes and improvements can be made to make opportunities more attractive and encourage more disabled people to take part by offering an inclusive environment, actively involving our learners in the development of what is delivered.

As our Activities Leader, you will:

  • Plan and facilitate with the Activity Manager a range of appropriate activities which meet the needs of individuals within different client groups to participate safely.
  • Work closely with the other Activity Leaders to provide opportunities for individuals to participate in inclusive activities sessions.
  • Create a client centred environment to enable full participation and the opportunity for clients to contribute ideas to enable maximum achievement.
  • Lead on developing bespoke activity packages that meet individual needs in line with the appropriate assessment of needs in partnership with external support including parents, and health/social care professionals.
  • Work collaboratively across other teams within Enham Trust in order to identify and drive opportunities in relation to disability. Lead relevant activities and events with external partners.
  • Coordinate the programme ensuring venues, materials, equipment, session plans and transport is arranged in a timely manner.
  • Find innovative solutions to support people to access activities.
  • Take an active lead in informing the Care Services department about any changes to the Activities Programme and customer attendance.
  • Ensure activity attendance registers and evaluation forms are accurately maintained.
  • Work in partnership with other external activities providers to provide, events, workshops and risk assess for health and safety concerns.

Quality.

  • Complete risk assessments, in partnership with the Activity Manager in order to manage risks and enabling the people who use our service to undertake activities of their choice in a safe manner.
  • Ensure all environmental and health and safety checks are carried out in line with regulatory and Trust requirements.
  • Co-operate with CQC inspections and other authorities such as Environmental Health.
  • Focus on continuous improvement within the department

Finance

  • Taking payment for activities where necessary and supplying receipts, ensuring the relevant paperwork is adhered to, ensuring good record keeping.

Key Results areas

  • Motivate and manage support staff and volunteers assisting in your activity sessions, to ensure they achieve their potential in line with Enham Trust’s policies and objectives
  • To attend training as required and be prepared to achieve qualifications appropriate to the role at the time as specified by the company.
  • Undertake relevant personal development.
  • Provide activities which help emotional or physical wellbeing; and develop strategies to increase healthy living.
  • Develop courses and activities which aim to help improve health and well-being.
  • Provide appropriate activities for different client groups which are well attended.
  • Activities provided are of a high quality, and the quality standards of the department
  • Attendance rates are consistently at 80% or above and there is monitoring and evaluation of activities.
