News & blogs Enham Trust Centenary Gin success 20/08/2021 On World Gin Day back in June, we launched our very own Centenary Gin to celebrate 100 years as a Trust and it's proven to be a massive success. Within the first week, we had sold over 40 bottles from the Enham village SPAR shop, with Kate from local gin producers Wessex Spirits having to produce batch after batch to keep up... "They had sold out again before I’d even delivered the next batch!"- Kate, Wessex Spirits We have now sold nearly 100 bottles in aid of the people we support. We are aiming to hit a minimum of 100 bottles as part of our 100 Challenge, so any extra purchases would be much appreciated in helping us reach our target. Cheers to everyone who has bought a bottle so far and we hope you enjoyed every sip! The story behind the gin... Handcrafted and infused with fresh rosemary, the production of the gin has been a collaborative effort. Teaming up with Andover gin producers Wessex Spirits, our Gardening team and the people we support have been hand-growing and picking the very rosemary which infuses the gin. Our gin journey all started when Enham Trust staff member, Pauline Bisson, approached her daughter-in-law Kate, the gin enthusiast and maker behind Wessex Spirits. Kate says "Creating a gin to celebrate the centenary of the Trust was her idea and it went from there!" I particularly love that the fresh rosemary I use to make the gin has been grown by the very people that the money raised will support. I feel that represents everything that the Trust is about.
