I am a young active individual who is looking for support to help me within my home and in the community. Being part of a small but dedicated team you would support the many activities I enjoy including sports, socialising, and shopping.

Although routine is especially important the role is varied and diverse. As a good planner you would help me organise my days and support in the life skills that ensure I can become independent as possible; cooking, managing budgets and weekly planning.

Whilst an understanding of my condition and the challenges I face is important I am looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, and well organised. With a good sense of humour, you will also understand that a patient and calm approach is important either when working one to one or as part of the team.  

Hours: 10 hours per week Mon to Fri & Occasional weekends

Pay: Dependent on experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Checking morning routine is completed.
  • Food preparation and domestic duties.
  • Support with administrative tasks including personal budgeting.
  • Supporting with community activities.
  • Planning day and weekly activities.
  • Communicate handover to other team and family members.
  • Liaise with professional and local authority support workers.
  • Supporting evening routines.

  Essential requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS required. Cost met by employer.
  • Legally entitled to work in the U.K.
  • Computer Literate.
  • Driver with own vehicle and clean license.

 Desirable requirements:

  • Experience in health & social care.
  • Experienced and trained in working with young people who have Social Communication Difficulties, and associated needs and heightened anxiety is desirable.
  • If you have relevant life experience, i.e. with a family member, could be given training in autism. The right person is the most important thing!
