Why I work for Enham Trust - Matt's story

I joined Enham Trust because I have always been passionate about the charity sector and helping other people. I learned during my Sociology degree that working for organisations that give back to society, is something I wanted to pursue.

About my role

I am currently working at Enham Trust as their Income Generation Lead, which I really enjoy as the role is varied and enables me to ensure that we can seek vital funding sources that is needed to continue providing services that are not supported by statutory funding.

I love working here at Enham Trust as everyone is very supportive and the general environment is one of happiness. It is apparent that everyone who works here shares the same common objective – which is to ensure that the people we support are enabled to work towards their goal of greater independence. I have also been fortunate to make a close group of friends during my time here at Enham Trust, which I feel that I will have for life.

Fundraising

I have been so inspired since working here that I have decided to take on my own fundraising challenge – which is to trek the Amazon Rainforest in September 2018. I have a huge fear of spiders and this is something that I want to overcome, and I could not think of a better cause to do it for. I have pledged to raise £2,980, which could be used in many areas of the charity, to help improve the lives of thousands of disabled people every year.
