Meet Kelvin For years, Kelvin felt alone and that he was treated unfairly at work due to a lack of awareness about neurodiversity. That was until he found supported employment at Enham Trust. Kelvin's past experiences both in work and throughout school made Kelvin feel hesitant about starting a new role at Enham. There had not been the appropriate level of support offered to Kelvin throughout his life or time taken to understand and empower Kelvin to maximise his potential. We are over the moon that Kelvin made that brave first step towards his new career at Enham. In the space of just three and a half years, Kelvin has since soared to new heights, earning his Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration and becoming a Support Worker, dedicated to empowering other disabled people in employment to achieve their goals and develop new skills in the workplace. "I love being able to have the chance to support people like me and communicate with other colleagues so everyone gets the correct help for their needs." Kelvin now gets all the support he needs from his peers and manager: "They took time to understand me and they are always patient which has made me want to ask for help for further development in the work environment." Kelvin would like people to understand that: "Neurodivergence is a disability and not an excuse - hidden disabilities do exist. We may struggle to do certain things but that doesn't mean that we aren't able". Kelvin would like to say: "A massive thank you to everyone who supports Enham Trust. Without your help, Enham wouldn’t be the amazing place that it is. Thank you for supporting us. I hope you have the most amazing Christmas - as amazing as you are!"
