Over the course of 2025, with the support of numerous partners, funders and volunteers, we have worked hard to transform a neglected green space in Enham Alamein into an accessible Community Orchard and Gardens, where people of all ages and abilities can come together to learn, connect, and grow. On Saturday 27 September we were thrilled to gather with our various supporters of the project, as well as visitors from the local community to celebrate the grand opening of the gardens, with an official ribbon cutting by Cllr Phil North. The sun made a welcome appearance, helping to show off the garden in all its glory. Visitors enjoyed exploring the gardens, whilst children put their detective skills to work, as they took part in a bug hunt activity. Even some four-legged friends made an appearance, making the most of wonderful sights and smells the flowers and crops had to offer. It truly warmed our hearts to see so many visitors appreciating the space. Nigel Sully, Head of Gardening and Domestics at Enham Trust said: “It was so lovely to see so many local people come to our official opening. This community Orchard was conceptualised back in 2023, with works finally starting in February of this year. What we have created is an amazing, accessible community space that will enable people to grow, connect and reflect at their leisure as well as being able to access planned activities throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming and working with local volunteers and visitors as the garden develops.” We have lots of exciting events and activities planned in the garden and would love you to get involved!
