Role overview

Café Assistant Volunteers are needed to support the running of the Enham Trust Café for disabled people using our services and members of staff. Ideally, you will enjoy working with both adults and children in an environment that can get busy and have compassion for people with disabilities who use the Café as a social environment. You will be fully supported by the Café Team.

Main duties

• Support Café staff, volunteers and trainees in the day to day running of the Café
• Carry out basic catering tasks including food preparation, cleaning and serving food to customers and clients
• Work with the Café Supervisor to ensure relevant paperwork is completed and checks are carried out ensuring compliance against relevant health and safety policies and procedures
• Work with staff to develop menus and daily specials boards
• Ensure kitchen area and Café are left clean and tidy and waste is discarded safely
• Provide good customer service to café clients

You will need to be:

• Personable and outgoing
• Enthusiastic
• Able to multitask
• Awareness of disability
• Belief in our cause and the services that we provide

Additional information

Days and times of volunteering can be discussed as per your availability, and you may be required to cover annual leave and/or sickness. The Café is open 9am to 2pm Monday to Saturday.
