Job Overview: Waking Night Shift


This is a back-up role to provide support for one live-in carer who works 3-week shifts. You will therefore be required to work a flexible rota of up to four nights at a time for a period of 2 – 3 weeks, with a rest period of 3 or more weeks between shift rotations.  

Hours:

12 hour shift - 8pm – 8am

Main Duties:

  • Providing all aspects of personal care at night for a young person with multiple learning and physical disabilities, and a delightful personality.
  • Being able to manage the client’s supplementary oxygen and non-invasive ventilation requirements is an essential part of this role (training will be provided but experience preferred).
  • Administering oral and topical medications as required; providing nebulisers as required, providing a calm, safe and reassuring atmosphere.

Ideal Candidate is a carer with a happy, resourceful personality, good sense of humour and a relaxed yet organised attitude.

Essential Criteria:

  • A background in clinical care preferred, as is experience of oxygen and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) management.
  • Numeracy skills essential.
  • Driving Licence with use of own car
  • Enhanced DBS Check
  • Legally Able To Work in UK
