The Training Kitchen at Enham Trust is a unique provision that focuses on providing disabled people with independent living skills.

By joining the Training Kitchen, you can learn skills such as:

  • Learning how to follow instructions and directions through the use of recipes
  • Create new recipes and try new dishes
  • Improve mathematical skills through weighing and quantifying ingredients
  • Improve your mental health and wellbeing

The Training Kitchen is great for meeting up with friends, experimenting with new food and best of all, trying your creations!

Nick in the Training Kitchen

“I really enjoy coming to the Training Kitchen and baking cakes with my friends.”

How is the Training Kitchen unique?

As a pan-disability charity, our Training Kitchen has been equipped with accessible apparatus and utensils. With rise and fall worktops, the Training Kitchen is fully accessible for wheelchair users, creating an inclusive and friendly social group.

The Training Kitchen has been designed to be fully inclusive and go beyond cooking and food preparation. It promotes the importance of food, personal hygiene, safe cooking practices by identifying risks and how to minimise them.

Support is flexible and can be delivered in groups or on a one-to-one basis. We can create a person centred plan with you to develop your essential independent living skills, so you can reach your goals.
