The role:

We are looking for a Risk Lead to proactively support the planning, design, and implementation of our risk management strategy throughout the organisation. Your role will be to provide first line support and advice to the organisation ensuring that regulatory requirements and met and that compliant business processes are maintained.

This role provides the opportunity to identify potential risks and support decision making on a variety of strategic, operational, and organisational plans and projects.

As our Risk Lead you will support the quality and risk team in identifying potential risks or areas for improvement within our processes and activities with the aim of enhancing practice and safety. You will also provide advice and guidance to key stakeholders, including the Senior Management Team and guide their decision-making process.

This is fantastic opportunity to build on your existing risk knowledge and build strong relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders from a variety of departments and provide them with assurance, support and advice regarding risk management and data protection.

As our Risk Lead, you will:

  • Provide day to day risk management advice to the organisation to support projects and processes so that regulatory requirements are met.
  • Review and evaluate risks within the corporate risk register and provide findings and recommendation reports to the Head of Quality and Risk
  • Fully support and participate in the function of risk management providing key learnings and recommendations through the Head of Quality and Risk to the Audit and Risk committee.
  • Monitor and review risk management processes as determined by the Head of Quality and Risk for the organisation to ensure safe and compliant practice.
  • Provide support and recommendations across the trust to help teams to explore, review and monitor risks effectively whilst promoting a risk and compliance culture.
  • Assist the Head of Quality and Risk in the collation and reporting of risk information through detailed reports and analysis.
  • Investigate, review and scrutinise incidents (including safeguarding and data protection incidents) to ensure that risks have been explored and mitigated effectively.
  • Support teams to develop, test and monitor business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Assist the Head of Quality and Risk to build risk awareness within the organisation and embed risk management activities.
  • Support the Head of Quality and Risk to implement and embed the Quality and Risk strategy and to continually improve practice across the organisation.

 What we are looking for from you:


  • Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating business risks
  • Experience of improving risk management processes and outputs.
  • Demonstrable experience providing advice and guidance to a wide range of stakeholders up to a senior level.
  • Experience of producing risk management reports for review.


  • Experience in incident management
  • Relevant risk management/compliance qualification
