Job Ref: LB/LP - Permanent - Plymouth - Pay Rate: £8.91 - Closing Date: Ongoing 

We need someone to be with our 10 year old son for a few hours some weekends. And to sometimes provide weekday evening cover from 4.30-7.30pm if his main carer isn't able to work. During school holidays some six hour days might be possible. Luke's chatty and friendly with a zany sense of humour, he's an active wheelchair user.


Duties and Responsibilities: Our son is sporty he likes visiting places like cheap cafes, basketball courts, anything with a military connection or shops. The carer needs to supervise his activities, he is active, fast and a bit impulsive. Every 2 ½ hours he uses intermittent catheters and needs to be reminded of the time and given some help adjusting his clothing.


Essential requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS required. Cost met by employer
  • Legally entitled to work in the U.K


Desirable requirements: someone energetic with a bus pass and a great sense of humour would be perfect! Our son has Spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
