Personal Care Assistants for girl aged 19.

Location:
Southway, Plymouth, PL6.

Pay Rate:
£8.72 per hour.

Hours:
Part time 16-20 hrs.
Full time 36-40 hrs. 4-5 days a week. Occasional weekend shifts.

Introduction:
Our daughter is 19 years old and has a wonderful personality who loves to experience life. She’s in a wheelchair, completely non verbal and has severe learning difficulties so requires all needs met.
She will require personal care, help with entertainment at home and help getting out and about. Plenty of training will be provided.

Main Duties:
7am-9am – Help me get washed and dressed for the day
11am-1pm (3 days a week) – Drive me in to town to various places; library, cinema etc
All personal care will need to be given including giving of medication and setting up of feeding tube.
Making sure entertainment and suitable rest is provided. Looking out for general well being for example making sure she doesn’t get too hot.
Getting her out and about to see friends and experience life. This can be a walk around the block, a trip into town on the bus or a drive in the car to meet up with friends and family.
She will need dropping off and collecting from respite when required.
She is non verbal but does love interaction especially if being silly.

Most shifts will fall Monday to Friday during the day. However an occasional evening or weekend shift will be required with sensible notice.

Essential requirements:
Flexible worker.
Needs to participate in all relevant training.
Comfortable working along side others as well as alone.
Happy working in a active household.


Desired experience:
Experience caring for younger complex special needs people.
Driving licence
