Personal Care Assistant
Now that shielding is coming to an end, we are looking to build a team of personal assistants to care for a young man with a complex type of epilepsy.
The role will include providing personal care, washing, toileting, feeding, social aspects such as planning trips out and accompanying them, housework.

Ideal candidate must have:
• experience of epilepsy
• Be over the age of 25 with clean driving licence
• able to drive a WAV
• Stay calm in a crisis
• Must be physically fit.

Desirable
• Experience of manual handling
• Experience of using a hoist and other equipment
• Experience of caring for young people without learning disabilities
• Giving medication through a peg.
• Giving rescue medication , and understanding of VNS.

Training will be provided for the right candidates .
CB checks will be carried out.
You must also have the right to work in the UK.

Hours 

Hours to be covered are Monday and Thursday 8am to 3pm and Saturday 8am till 12 noon. We have a position of two hours per day to double up with main carer plus possible other hours when additional support is required for trips out.
2 overnight / sleep ins per month.
Plus bank hours to cover for respite breaks and sickness/ holidays.
We are building a bank team to cover for respite, sickness and holidays.
You must be flexible in hours you can cover. Also able to accompany on holidays with family.

Rate £9.00 -£10.50 an hour depending on experience and training.
Interviews at present will be by video call and questionnaires.
