Job overview

A Personal Assistant is required for a male client living in the PL5 area of Plymouth. The employer is looking for a Personal Assistant who is able to assist with personal care, morning routine, showering, food preparation, eating, night time routine and support him to attend social activities in the community and medical appointments. The employer is looking for a Personal Assistant who is able to drive and has some experience in care and hoist training. Further training can be provided. The ideal candidate will be honest, reliable and resilient.

Main duties

  • The employer is a wheelchair user and you will be required to lift him in and out of your vehicle
  • Personal care is required, assisting client with showering and getting dressed in the mornings
  • Assisting client with a bedtime routine
  • Double up’s in the morning to help the client get ready
  • Using a hoist
  • Support with food and drink preparation
  • Prompting with medication
  • Assisting with bed rests during the day
  • Any other reasonable task to allow the service user to live independently

Essential requirements

  • Driver and car owner
  • Enhanced DBS required. Cost met by employer
  • Legally able to work in the UK

Desirable requirements

  • Experience in health & social care
  • Be able to work well in a team
