Jobs Work as an independent carer (PA) Personal Care Assistant Job Ref: BT/JR | Permanent | Coxley BA5 | 310-£13 per hour | Closing Date: Ongoing Personal Care AssistantsPart- time PA's are needed to join an existing happy team of PA’s who care for a disabled gentleman with complex needs, receiving 24 hr care – Wells area, Somerset.Location: Coxley, Wells. BA5Pay Rate: Between £10 to £13 per hourHours: Regular hours: Evenings 6pm – 10pmAdditional Bank hours available as well as cover shifts for sickness and holidays.Waking nights may also be available. Introduction:The work involves aiding with the tasks listed below to enable me to live as independently as possible. As my needs vary it is important that the Personal Assistant is flexible about what the work involves and agrees to undertake any other reasonable tasks that I request. Able to cover for annual leave and sickness and extra bank hours as agreed in advance. Main Duties:1. helping me transfer to and from my bed, using a hoist2. helping me get in position and turn in bed and in my wheelchair.3. assist me in taking/applying & recording medication. 4. helping me with bladder/ bowel management, including changing/emptying a urine bag.5. assisting me with peg feed &. gastrostomy care.6. washing and bathing me, in bed and in the bathroom.7. doing my teeth, skin, feet, nails and hair care8. shaving me.9. dressing and undressing me10. assisting me with oral hygiene, suction and swallow, as risk of choking. 11. assisting me with physiotherapy exercises and moving my limbs.12. shopping & or assisting me with shopping13. opening my post14. setting up reading and writing materials for me15. setting up my computer16. filing and mailing my correspondence.17. collecting and carrying things on my behalf.18. making and changing beds19. undertaking light household duties such as washing up, laundry, ironing, storing, hoovering, dusting and cleaning20. collection of my prescriptions. Essential requirements:Patience and good communication skills.Previous experience of complex disability needs and health care tasks.Enhanced DBS check will be funded.Must be reliable, punctual, kind and trustworthy. Desired experience:Full Training is mandatory and will be provided for all related tasks.
