Job Overview:
The employer is a gentleman with a physical disability who requires personal assistants to
assist with personal care, complete household tasks and accompany him whilst out and
about in the community.

This role is a lone working position and an Enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) is required for all
staff undertaking the role.

It is a permanent position, subject to continued funding and the successful completion of a 6
month probationary period.

Hours:

Saturday & Sunday

8-11 am Morning routine

3-4pm freshen

10-10.30pm bedtime routine

Monday to Friday

10-10.30pm bedtime routine

(The employer would welcome interest from Carers who are able to provide some of these hours if not all)

Main duties:

. Provide support for the employer including personal care
. Support employer to socialise within the community
. Complete household tasks for the employer e.g cleaning and cooking
. Support employer to attend appointments and reply to correspondence
. Record all relevant information and perform all necessary administrative tasks with
  complete confidentiality

Essential:

. An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS – formerly known as CRB) check
  will be required – the cost will be met by employer
. Experience in a similar role
. A friendly, warm and caring attitude
. Punctual, reliable and trustworthy
. Motivated and encouraging attitude
. Maintains professional standards and confidentiality
. An empathy with the needs of disabled people
. Knowledge and understanding of how to support people with physical disabilities
  and associated conditions
. Treats people with dignity and respect and adopts a person-centered approach in
  encouraging and motivating participation with patience and clear explanation
. Able to demonstrate the ability to work in an empowering manner
. Able to work on own initiative

Desired:

. Knowledge of Swindon and the surrounding area
. A clean, current driving license
. Basic first aid
. Experience using hoists especially ceiling track hoists
. Evidence of relevant training and qualifications
. General knowledge of Health and Safety
