Personal Assistant required to support disabled family in Eldene, Swindon

Salary £9:00 per hour during Eldene school term times only.

The post start is staged to allow the household to get used to a new person gradually. Initially the hours will be one hour per day 10:00-11:00 Mon, Thurs & Fri mornings. Hours can then be increased.

You will be required to cover staff illness and holiday with additional hours as and when required.

Job Background:
This position is to help and support with all day-to-day tasks of a busy disabled household.

Job Role:
It is the job of the Personal Assistant to assist their employer in all areas of requested support.
Examples of weekly tasks include:
• To act as a confidential escort, assistant and companion for social and day-to-day activities
• Provide support with general household tasks such as cleaning and gardening
• Provide support with meal preparation and all aspects of correspondence
• Provide support with pet care and interaction and with on-going studies of religious material
• Build effective communication so that the family’s needs and wishes can be heard, and develop a successful working rapport
• Provide support with personal care and all relevant daily needs
• To be sensitive to the home setting and be aware of the privacy and confidentiality that requires
• To be aware of all health and safety aspects whilst working
• To be prepared to receive on-going training, advice and support from family and the health professionals involved
