Job ref: GW/PPH | Permanent | Chandler's Ford SO53 | £10 p/h | Closing: 7th July 2021

Introduction:
I live alone and am wheelchair dependent because of my cerebral palsy. I have a wide range of interests including photography and art, going to cafes and listening to music. I am looking for someone who is easy to talk to and who I can “shoot the breeze” with. I occasionally struggle with my speech at first but once I am comfortable with you I will find it much easier.

Previous care experience is not required as most of the tasks involved can be learned from me because I am the best person to know what my needs are and how they are best met.

Hourly rate: £10 p/h

Hours: up to 20 hrs per week

Duties
I am looking for someone to help out with my daily tasks and support me throughout the day. I am also looking for someone to assist with a variety of tasks which will support me to live an independent and social life. I don’t have any set days in mind, however I would be looking for someone to work with me in the mornings and early afternoons as I tend to get tired around late afternoon. I’m happy to discuss hours and days in person to be flexible to suit both mine and your schedule.

Domestic Care:

No one day is the same but these tasks can include grocery shopping, cooking and meal preparation, driving me to appointments and attending when necessary, supporting me in making phone calls and writing emails and organising paperwork.

Personal Care:

The only aspect of personal care I need is for my head to be shaved regularly.

Essential:
You must have a full clean driving license and insurance and your own car.

Desirable:
The ideal candidate would be:
• Patient
• Reliable and punctual
• Honest and trustworthy
• Flexible
• Use their own initiative
• Friendly
• Able to use a computer (eg Microsoft word)
• Able to make phone calls
• Have good communication skills
• Have good common sense
