Job Overview:
Are you a responsible person who would you like to join my team of carers in our fun loving household to support me, a young disabled man who has complex needs, severe cerebral palsy and epilepsy? I am dependent on my team for all my daily living needs. 
I require support on return from college three evening per week, to give me an evening meal, participate in activities and get me into bed.
My interests (to name a few) are gaming, you would need to set up the iPad and support with games, watching Disney films, going to the beach and having fish and chips!
This role is subject to an Enhance DBS Check 
You would have to be eligible to work in the UK

Hours:
4 x 5 hour shifts to be worked flexibly over the month preferably Tuesdays or Thursdays between 4-9pm


Essential to cover in emergencies and holidays/sickness within the team

Main Duties: 
To provide support and care as outlined in individual care plans which will include:

• Personal care – bathing, dressing, toileting (changing pads) and oral hygiene
• Administering medications (including epilepsy meds)
• Dealing with verbally challenging behaviours (with experience can be de-escalated)
• Preparing an evening meal, feeding and clearing away 
• Light household tasks, eg. Washing, ironing and storing my clothes 
• Keeping the local environment to a good level of cleanliness e.g. kitchen and bathroom.

Ideal Candidate:
This role would suit a person who settled in life without too many commitments, there is a need to be flexible around working times.

• Physical ability to care for someone with a disability 
• Ability to plan, organize, and multitask without supervision
• Positive attitude and a good sense of humour

Essential Criteria:
Full training will be given but experience of working with people who have a disability would be a real advantage.
Full Driving Licence: Yes 
Use of Own Car: Yes plus be able to drive family’s Long Wheel Base Renault Traffic Van (must be over 25 years to be included on insurance policy)
