Overview:
I am a young man 22 years old. I have severe cerebral palsy, learning difficulties and epilepsy. I enjoy getting the most from life, my interests (to name a few) are gaming, (you would need to set up the iPad and support with games), and watching Disney films, going to the beach and having fish and chips! I need support to do everything, indoors and outside in the community.

Who am I looking for?
Are you a responsible person who would you like to join my team of carers in our fun loving household to support me, a young disabled man who has complex needs, severe cerebral palsy and epilepsy? I require support on return from college three evenings per week, to give me an evening meal, participate in activities and get me into bed I am dependent on my team for all my daily living needs.

Hours:
21 hours per week
-Monday 4-8pm
-Wednesday 4- 10pm
-Friday 4 – 10pm
-Sat - Three per month 2 x 10am- 3pm plus 1 x 10am -8pm
-Essential to cover in emergencies and holidays/sickness within the team.

Duties:
· Personal care – bathing, dressing, toileting (changing pads) and oral hygiene
· Administering medications (including epilepsy meds)
· Dealing with verbally challenging behaviours (with experience can be de-escalated)
· Preparing an evening meal, feeding and clearing away
· Light household tasks, eg. Washing, ironing and storing my clothes
· Keeping the local environment to a good level of cleanliness e.g. kitchen and bathroom.

Essential:
Experience of working with people who have a disability
Ability to plan, organise and multi-task using own initiative
Positive attitude and good sense of humour
Full Driving Licence: Yes
Use of Own Car: Yes
Must be able to drive family’s Long Wheel Base Renault Traffic Van (must be over 25 years to be included on insurance policy)
Language: English

Desirable:
NVQ 2 or 3
Epilepsy Training
