What a Difference a Day Makes to Enham Trust!
Leading disability charity Enham Trust last week played host to almost 50 volunteers from international telecommunications company Vodafone, and the UK’s largest financial services group Lloyds Banking Group; making a valued contribution to the charity’s vital cause.
Working with different departments and service areas of the Trust across the day, the volunteers were given several tasks to complete, including; supporting Enham Trust’s Garden Services team to clear the grounds surrounding the Trust, enabling this year’s Christmas Trees to grow & develop ready for the festive season, and creating a beautiful piece of art for The Art Project, a brand new initiative which launched last month.
This day of volunteering also gave individuals the chance to meet some of the Trust’s clients, and learn more about the charity’s work across the country – supporting over 7,500 disabled people to live as independently as possible.
We’re delighted that so many volunteers from both Lloyds and Vodafone were able to join us for a day, The kindness of volunteers saves us thousands of pounds each year, savings that help us to ensure we can continue our work, and support disabled people to live the lives they choose
- Jen Hall, Volunteer Opportunities Lead
Last year alone, 160 individual volunteers and 9 local businesses provided Enham Trust with an amazing 18,500 hours of support, saving the Trust nearly £250,000.
