Enham Trust declared as Disability Confident Leader

Leading Hampshire-based disability charity Enham Trust, today announced it has obtained Disability Confident Leader status under the Disability Confident scheme.

An initiative established by the Government in 2013, Disability Confident aims to challenge negative attitudes to disability employment, and promote equal opportunities for all individuals who can work.

Achieving Disability Confident Leader status acknowledges the Trust’s efforts to support people living with a disability to gain employment within the organisation, as well as its ongoing work with businesses to support and employ disabled people.

Heath Gunn, CEO of Enham Trust, remarks of this achievement:

“Supporting disabled people, living and working locally and throughout the UK, to become as socially & economically independent as possible provides the basis of everything we do here at Enham Trust.

“To have gained Disability Confident Leader status in recognition of our efforts to employ disabled people within our offices and services, together with our work with other organisations in supporting them to employ disabled people means so much to everyone here at Enham. We hope that with this accreditation we are able to set an example, and can work with even more businesses to realise the valuable and exceptional talents of people with disabilities.”

Enham Trust currently supports thousands of disabled people across the country each year in the key areas of their lives by providing housing, care, and various employment & skills opportunities to ensure each customer gains independence, choice, and control over every aspect of their lives.
