Christmas quiz raises over £200 for Enham Trust
A local festive pub quiz has raised over £200 for leading Hampshire-based disability charity Enham Trust.
The quiz, held at the Weyhill Fair Pub in the nearby village of Weyhill and orchestrated by Liz & Dave Cosgrove, saw 10 teams of 4 exercise their general knowledge to compete for first place; all whilst raising a total of £223.50 for Enham Trust.
Kerrie Morley, Enham Trust’s Income Generation Co-Ordinator, said of the event:
“I’d like to thank everyone involved in making this quiz a success; Liz & Dave Cosgrove for being our Quiz Masters for the evening, and the Weyhill Fair for putting on the event. It’s thanks to the support of local businesses, and local people, that we’re able to continue our work to ensure as many disabled people as possible live independently.”
Quiz Masters Liz & Dave Cosgrove have been volunteering & fundraising for the Trust in this way for some time, Liz having worked at the charity for some 17 years. This event was the final in a series of 4 quizzes held at the pub this year in aid of the Trust, raising a total of £1,000; following over £6,500 donated by the Weyhill Fair Pub to the charity as their Charity of the Year for 2016.
All funds raised by this event will go towards Enham Trust’s ongoing work; supporting thousands of disabled people across the country each year in every area of their lives by providing housing, care, and various employment & skills opportunities to ensure each customer gains independence, choice, and control over daily decisions.
