MOVE Programme About Training and Events Membership and Accreditation Resources Stories Contact Make a donation Mini MOVE Practitioner Training To start the Mini MOVE Programme in your setting, you need to complete Mini MOVE Practitioner training. Mini MOVE is an adapted version of the MOVE Programme that is designed for use in mainstream early years and primary school settings. Just like the MOVE Programme, Mini MOVE is an activity-based framework that enables children with physical needs to gain independent movement, focusing on the gross motor skills of sitting, standing, walking and transitioning between. When deciding which members of staff to send on Practitioner training, it is advisable for your SENCO, Key Worker(s), your setting’s physiotherapist and a member of Senior Management to attend. Course structure Day 1 provides attendees with the information and skills to set up Mini MOVE at their setting and engage parents with the programme. Objectives: To understand the key ideas, philosophy and ethos of Mini MOVE To understand and be able to implement the first 3 steps of Mini MOVE: Assessment; Goal Setting; Task Analysis To think about which children in your setting could benefit from using Mini MOVE To create a plan for parental engagement Day 2 provides attendees with a practical understanding of how to support children with physical needs to develop their functional skills, and how to embed Mini MOVE in their setting. Objectives: To review progress and initial implementation of Mini MOVE following Day 1 of training To be able to use the last 3 steps of Mini MOVE: Understanding Prompts; Adjusting Prompts; Teaching Skills To learn how to have effective conversations with multi-agency professionals, such as your therapy team To develop an action plan to embed Mini MOVE in your setting Course details Cost £125 per person Timings 10:00 – 15:00 Platform Zoom (a link will be sent to all attendees prior to the course) Watch this space for upcoming training dates!
