Care and support worker

My care team provide personal care, they are trained to deal with my medical needs and support me to remain healthy. I rely on my team to keep my independence. Applicants must have a full clean driving licence and be prepared to drive my adapted van.

The role involves a holistic approach to supporting me, as a physically disabled young man with my daily life. The successful applicant must be organised and have an ‘upbeat’ approach to support. I also require someone who is reliable and have flexibility to work varying shifts. You will be part of a small professional team who support me in my family home and socially.

The role will require manual handling, personal care, giving medication and the use of medical equipment. Full training will be given, both in-house and from outside providers.

The person I am looking for must be able to engage with me as an individual. I am looking for someone with a positive outlook and an organised way of working.

  • Full manual driving licence and willing to drive my van.

  • Previous care experience or a strong desire to learn new skills and be helpful and supportive.
  • 30 - 35 hours a week. £ 8.50 rising to £9.50 ph following a successful probationary period.
