Achieving with volunteering
“Volunteering with Enham Trust has given my life purpose. I’ve been coming back for four years now because I love it and I enjoy seeing the clients smile.
Being at Enham Trust has really made a difference to my life. I feel more confident, I’ve made lots of new friends and am more social because of it. With the help of Enham Trust I have also achieved my Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Professional Cookery and completed a Learning and Development course in Personal Boundaries, a key course in social care. I make a mean Sunday Roast now!
I grew up local to Enham, and I remember coming down to village when I was little, so I have always known that Enham Trust is here. After having an accident some time ago I decided to give volunteering a go. As I recovered I wanted to not only do something with my days, I also wanted to give back and encourage others to do the things they never thought they could.
I’m so glad I picked Enham Trust to volunteer with – I really enjoy it here. I’ve made new friends with volunteers and clients all round Enham. We always have a laugh together and do fun activities such as play pool, do arts and crafts, have quizzes and when the weather is nice we play Badminton and other outdoorsy sports.
Try something new
I like to think that I have achieved a lot with the clients; I bring them happiness and encourage them to always try something new. I’m looking to secure full time work but I intend on volunteering at Enham as long as they will have me!
I would encourage others who are thinking about volunteering or maybe even those who haven’t considered it to give it a go. You will love the clients. Enham is the place to be!
