Female Support Worker required for a lady in Nythe with Learning Disabilities

Job Overview:
The employer requires support within the home and in the community. This role is a lone working position and an Enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) is required for all staff undertaking the role. It is a permanent position, subject to continued funding and the successful completion of a 6 month probationary period.

Care Assistant to provide one to one care for female adult with severe learning disability.

The successful candidate must have prior experience with caring for people with special needs. 

Main Duties:

  • To support a woman with severe learning disabilities to go for walks in the community
  • Assistance with personal care may be required at times
  • To explore the local community for activities outside the home
  • To assist employer with tasks within the home, ironing mainly and some light cleaning
  • Providing care for female with severe learning disability (preferably outside of current home setting (for a change of environment)
  • Feeding assistance (cutting up food, encouraging to eat etc)
  • Assisting with her toiletry & hygiene needs. Changing/ washing if necessary
  • Encouragement/assistance with learning/ speech therapy would be a benefit
  • Providing some mental stimulation, trips to places/ helping with jigsaws etc

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in similar role
  • Someone who is patient and hardworking
  • Knowledge of Swindon and surrounding area
  • Motivated and encouraging attitude
  • Enhanced DBS Check
  • Legally Able To Work in UK

Essential Criteria:
Type of experience required: Support experience with individuals with Learning disabilities
Length of experience required: 6 months
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be required the cost will be met by employer.
