Job Ref: SF/FM | Permanent | Plymouth PL5 | Pay Rate £8.91 per hour | Closing date: 30th Sept. 2021

Female Personal Care Assistant

Location: Plymouth PL5
Pay: £8.91 per hour
Hours: 2.75 hours per day, Mon to Sun

I’m a psychology graduate and love anything related to the mind and brain, I design and make jewellery when I’m able, and love stand-up comedy, chilling on the beach, and my 2 year old Springer Spaniel.
I suffer from chronic pain and chronic fatigue which make it difficult for me to manage everyday tasks. You’ll be assisting me with meal preparation, personal care, household tasks and phone calls/paperwork.

Main Duties
You would prepare breakfast, take my assistance dog out to the garden for a wee, and assist me with washing/dressing, laundry, some household tasks (e.g. washing dishes, wiping kitchen surfaces) and some correspondence and/or telephone calls each day, if there’s time. Ideally, you would work from 12pm to 1pm, but I can be flexible where hours are concerned. In the evenings, I would need you to heat up a pre-prepared meal and make a hot drink, take my assistance dog out for a wee, assist me with household tasks (e.g. making the bed), some correspondence (e.g. writing emails, filling in forms) and getting ready for bed. Ideally, you would work from 9pm to 10.45pm, but I can be flexible where hours are concerned.

Essential requirements
You must like dogs, be efficient and have good timekeeping. I suffer from OCD, therefore you must have good eyesight and be able to clean things to a high standard.

Desired experience
It would be helpful if you have some experience or understanding of mental health problems, chronic fatigue and chronic pain but this is not essential.
