Female Personal Care Assistant - Car Driver.

Hours Required:
Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:00pm - 3:00 pm
Hourly Rate: 11.00 per hour

Job Overview:
A Personal Assistant (PA) to support a mother who is isolated at home and has difficulty engaging in most tasks at home. She is currently treated for mental illness. A holistic approach is adopted whereby a PA is needed to provide regular personal social support for the client to reduce anxiety, low confidence and improve her personal confidence to face up with normal life routines.

Client Biography:
The client is an adult mother who normally enjoys home cooking and socialising locally. She is currently treated for mental illness. The symptoms are in poor and unhealthy life-style with irregular meal and sleeping hours, low confidence, social avoidance and self-isolation at home. The client is seeking to physically re-engage into domestic house work and chores, personal mobility and into social community. She also has difficulty to keep up in engaging with a growing schooling child at home.

Ideal Candidate:
This is a social support caring PA role, to provide listening, understanding, encouragement and mentoring, with hands-on working together with client in house work and chores. This is a social support caring role while non-medical psychological treatment is provided by mental health services.
Would be appropriate for residents within or near outskirts of Basingstoke. Visiting during early afternoon times, working 4-hours/week at client’s home.

Essential Criteria:
An emphatic attitude, time to listen, person centric, non-judgemental approach is essential in communication and engagement. The client has “lost her way” with normal living routines and need patient and person centric support from a PA. Previous lived experience as a mental health patient or as a supporting carer will be very helpful.
The client is noted for being perfectionist with high expectations on domestic tidiness and cleanliness.
Appropriate Covid-19 safeguards and practice will be observed throughout and may affect/alter normal methods of doing things at home.

Type of experience required:
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring service (DBS) will be required the cost will be met by the employer
