Jobs Work as an independent carer (PA) Female Personal Assistant Job ref. SP/LP | Temporary | Plymouth PL5 | Rate £10.42 per hour | Closes 11th Decemeber Introduction I am a 45 year old female with complex medical issues/disabilities and complex mental health issues. When well enough I love the fresh air (the Hoe), Dartmoor and making crafts if my hands can cope. I love to cook and enjoy music and films. You will be helping me manage my medical issues through diet and self help techniques and manage care of my home. I have complex GI /tummy issues so meal planning and batch cooking are key to preventing flares of my medical issues. Many of my MH issues these days are triggered by pain/symptom flares and stress so by having a settled life and diet this helps tremendously.I also have a house rabbit who you will be supporting me to care for, he is very friendly and cheeky. DutiesI’m independent but I require someone to support me to keep safe when I am carrying out everyday tasks like food planning, food prep and cleaning in my home. I may require hands on practical support with this if I am feeling unwell. I am independent with personal care but need someone around to make sure I am safe while I’m in the wet room and may need support if I’m unwell, there are panic buttons /pendants available for use in my home. Support with attending doctor’s appointment and going food shopping is sometimes needed though my husband helps with a lot of that side of things.Hours to be spread across the week, I prefer support sessions to last around 90 minutes unless something big is happening, this is because I become tired and can black out if over tired, the working pattern has some flexibility as my husband works retail shift patterns. Hours: 5.5 hours Temporary 6 month contract Rate: £10.42 per hour Essential RequirementsDriving license and a car essential. Desired ExperienceFirst aid and Mental Health First aid knowledge beneficial but not essential.• Experience as a HCA or similar role would really help due to the complex nature of my medical issues, I try to manage diabetes at home and am waiting for a number of medical issues to be investigated.
