Job Role

Female Personal Assistant required for a Mother living in the PL2 area of Plymouth. The employer is looking for a second Personal Assistant to join the team. The employer is looking for someone who is able to support her with household duties, access to the community and support with daily tasks for her children. Applicant must have a driving licence. Please note employer has one Chihuahua.

The Employer is looking for applicants whose qualities include being organised, have empathy, motivated, trustworthy, patient and willing to learn more about my medical condition, to help support employers management of it. After probation, a training course on the medical condition can be available if needed, no charge to the Personal Assistant.

Employer has a medium sized wheelchair accessible vehicle which the personal assistant will be required to drive. Vehicle is currently manual, the employer is looking into a automatic one.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Light cooking and cleaning duties
• Personal care, at present minor assistance needed such as support with washing hair
• Support out in the community, also including supporting with activities with her children.
• Must be able to cook and prepare meals for children
• Prompting Medication
• Assisting with physio
• Typing skills, keeping up with emails and booking appointments
• Support with online food shop
• Occasional shopping
• Competent to support making phone calls, organising paperwork, calendar, occasionally attending appointments and meetings.
• Unable to stand for long as exacerbates symptoms, so outdoors mostly requires a wheelchair.
• Understanding of confidentiality including confidentiality online.
• Any other reasonable task to allow the service user to live independently

Essential requirements:
• Car owner & Driver
• Enhanced DBS required. Cost met by employer.
• References from previous employers
• Excellent English skills (verbal and written)
• Computer Literate, good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Legally entitled to work in the U.K

Desirable requirements:
• Experience in health & social care, NVQ 2 or above in Health and Social Care. Or working towards a similar qualification
• Interest in adult and child nutrition due to dietary requirements
• Experience of chronic fatigue & a connective tissue disorder or conditions with similar symptoms e.g. MS.
• General good health
• An interest in arts and crafts, employer would like support to start these hobbies again.
• Interest in baking (Employers children would like support with this activity)
• Enjoys swimming and boats
