Enham Trust is a leading disability charity situated in the rural village of Enham Alamein, providing both residential and domiciliary care onsite and within the immediate area. The Charity is at the heart of the local community.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, committed, and passionate Care Assistant who shares our ethos and values of breaking down barriers for disabled people.

The role

  • Assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing, administering medication and assisting with meals.
  • Providing physical and mental stimulation by taking part in recreational and social activities, both individually and as part of a group.
  • Helping to maintain accurate diary notes and records.
  • Undertaking regular training to ensure that you are up to date with changes to legislation and can deliver the very best standards of care.

You

Ideally, you will have some experience of working within a care setting, although this is not essential. However, you must possess a genuine desire to work within this field.

You will:

  • Have the ability to build excellent rapport and relationships with a wide variety of people.
  • Be flexible in working shift patterns on a rota basis including days, evenings and weekends.
  • Be an excellent communicator and team player.

In addition, ideally you will:

  • Have some knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding and the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Possess experience of working with people with disabilities.
  • Hold an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Care.
