Complex Needs Care Assistant Job Ref: RP/LK | Permanent | Cornwall TR14 | Hourly Rate £13.00 | Closing Date: 6th Sept. 2019 Job Overview: 38-year-old Gentleman with complex needs requiring a HCA/Nurse to join a friendly team to help provide him with the best quality of life in his own home and out and about. The client has severe uncontrolled epilepsy and learning difficulties with the mind of a 6-year-old. He has a PEG, stoma and catheter fitted and needs complete personal and social care. Hours are flexible and require days and/or waking nights. Client lives at home with his father and requires 2-1 care. He was diagnosed with severe uncontrolled epilepsy at a few months old and has seizures daily in which he stops breathing. He is fed and medicated through a PEG as he is completely nil by mouth. Client also has a catheter and stoma bag. Client requires complete attention in all aspects of personal and social aspects. Having the mind of a toddler, the client loves to be read stories, play at arcades and colouring. He likes to be taken out in his van every day for a ‘nice ride’, mainly to the shops where he likes to hold the basket and pay the lady at the end. At night time, the main responsibility is to make sure client is safe and okay throughout the night and to treat any seizures. Client is either bed bound or in his wheelchair.
