If so, Enham Trust has an exciting opportunity for an individual with a disability or long term health condition, to work as an Assistant Gardener on a 12 month fixed term, employment support programme.

The role

As an Assistant Gardener you will be involved in gardening and grounds maintenance, both within the village of Enham Alamein and in an external local domestic garden service, ensuring requirements are met to a high standard, adding to the satisfaction and enjoyment of those living and working at Enham and our external customers.

As a supported employee you will be provided with the relevant training required to carry out this role, including the opportunity to undertake functional skills and Maths and English qualifications.

You will have access to employment support, personalised to your support needs and experience, you will work with your Employment Adviser to identify skills gaps, and obtain on the job support & employability support such as, CV writing skills and interview techniques, in addition to any welfare or independence support you may require. This is a 12 month fixed term programme; upon completion you will be assisted to move into un-supported employment with transitional support.


You will have the will, we can develop the skill.

You will:

  • Have the ability to follow instructions
  • Be able to adhere to health and safety legislation whilst carrying out your duties
  • Be aware of the hazards and comply with the control measures associated with a range of chemicals used in the role (COSHH)
  • Have a commitment to excellent customer service and standards of work
  • Working in a small team, have a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks
  • Commit to engaging with your employment support advisor on a regular basis to undertake training and additional support where identified.
